This is a sponsored post from Skillshare.

After blogging for over a year, we have learned a TON about running a successful blog! Seriously, who knew there was so much that goes into running a site?

Blogging takes a lot of hard work and determination to get over the learning curve to start making money. Anyone that says running a successful money making blog is “easy” is feeding you a lie.

Over the past year, we have developed and grown our skills using Skillshare. Skillshare is an online education platform with 17,000+ classes taught by some of the world’s leading experts.

Since I am a visual learner, Skillshare’s education platform is perfect! Most of their classes are taught through short video series. You can even change the speed of the video making it possible to fly through classes.

Skillshare is usually $8.25 a month, but for a limited time, they’re giving The Savvy Couple readers two FREE months of unlimited access to streaming their more than 17,000 classes. Just click here to start your two free months!

Online Class – Content Planning

This class is incredible! Andrea from BrandVox goes in-depth on the importance of content planning.

The first 6 months we started our blog we had no idea what we were doing. We would randomly post here and there and expect to grow our following.

Getting your content planned out in advance is so important. Not only can you batch work to be more efficient, but it helps you capitalize on trends and holidays.

Online Class – Social Media Marketing

This class was the first class I took on SkillShare. If you are not a Gary Vaynerchuk fan yet you need to be! Gary has been absolutely killing it in the digital marketing business over the last 20 years.

This class is an excellent beginner class for bloggers to learn the ins and outs of social media marketing.

Gary does a great job of going through the major social media platforms and how to succeed on each one.

Warning – Gary is a FAST talker so be ready to take some notes! Or just slow down the speed of the video.

Online Class – Pinterest Marketing 101

Listen up bloggers, if you are not on Pinterest marketing your content you NEED to be.

Our blog struggled to take off from a traffic standpoint until we started to focus Pinterest.

Just a few months after learning how to market on Pinterest we now make thousands of dollars a month from our blog.

This course is excellent in teaching the important factors that make a good Pinterest profile, boards, and pinnable images. We highly recommend taking this course!

Online Class – Mastering Facebook Ads

Facebook as Gary V. would say is still the “mothership” of social media platforms.

We have struggled since starting our blog to learn how to run effective Facebook ads. In all honesty, we still struggle but this course certainly provided some amazing clarity.

The power Facebook has to target and niche down for marketing purposes is mind-blowing. We as content marketers have never had this much power in advertising.

Many bloggers make thousands of dollars a month running ads on their high converting articles. It’s definitely an important skill to learn and implement.

Final thoughts

Taking the time to invest in yourself might be the best investment you can make in life.

I currently devote an entire day every week as an “education day”. I use the day to read articles, watch videos, and implement new skills I learn. It’s actually my favorite day of the week since I love learning new things.

The time I have invested in my own education has paid tenfold in our business.

Using a platform like Skillshare to grow your skills seems like a no-brainer looking back. With over 17,000 classes to take on basically anything you can think of, you will never run out of content to learn from.

You can sign up for your FREE two-month unlimited access to try out as many classes that you want. Enjoy learning!
